The Studio Workshop

JOIN US!!! WE HAVE SO MUCH FUN!

We welcome artists of all experience levels to join us in our work, just as Mary Cattell did when she founded this theatre in 1929. TWS would not be recognized as one of the western suburbs’ most vital cultural institutions without the help of hundreds of talented, friendly and dedicated people.

All persons interested in acting on our stage must attend and complete one of the workshop groups being offered this year.

Studio Information Sheet ----------- Studio Registration Form

The workshop will be conducted by Artistic Director, Jack Phillips, and consist of nine sessions.  Participants will perform improvisational exercises, monologues and scenes.  Studio is open to all interested adults regardless of experience. (See previous class photos.)

Whether you act on our stage, work behind the scenes, or front-of-the-house, you will need to become a member by purchasing a season subscription to our Mainstage and Forum productions.  By purchasing a season subscription, you save off the box office price of tickets for each of the season’s productions.

and an  Interest Sheet  (Click here for Word version of Interest Sheet).  If you are interested in the  the Studio workshop we ask that you complete and return both to the theatre

The Theatre of Western Springs is a successful, community theatre founded at the beginning of the great depression by Mary Cattell.  We know that you will find TWS an interesting and invigorating place to utilize and be recognized for your time and talents.  We hope that you will consider becoming one of our Active Members.

If you have any questions regarding the theatre or about the workshop, please do not hesitate to call the theatre at 708-246-4043.  We look forward to meeting you.

=========

Because TWS stresses the idea of community in each of its programs, Studio participants are encouraged to become audience members as well as participants in the TWS season. In fact, to attend Studio, you must subscribe to both our Mainstage and Forum productions. In addition, to attain Active status, you must contribute each year to the work behind the scenes or front of house. As you see some shows, work on others, and act in additional programs, you will become a well-rounded citizen of our theatrical community. By providing such a complete artistic experience, TWS makes it easy and fun to express your creative side in a supportive environment.
